VEP added to your home screen now opens even without a connection: it starts from the copy it kept on your phone, and once the network is back it signs you in and loads your chats by itself.
Why it matters
A phone app should open when you tap it, also in a lift, on a train or in a basement. A weak signal used to leave you looking at an error page instead of VEP, and you had to reopen the app once the signal came back.

- Without a connection, or with a very slow one, VEP on your home screen showed an error page instead of opening, and had to be reopened once the network was back.
- Now
- VEP on your home screen opens from its last copy without a connection, then signs you in and loads your chats by itself when the network returns.
What you get
- Opens without a connection: VEP starts from the copy it kept on your phone during your last visit, so you see VEP and not an error page.
- Slow networks: when the network takes more than 4 seconds to answer, VEP opens from its copy right away and keeps the fresh version for next time.
- Catches up by itself: when the connection comes back, VEP signs you in, loads your chats and reopens the chat you had open, all by itself.
- Current version: if VEP opened from an older copy after an update, it offers to reload so you get the current version.
- Clear offline pages: a VEP page that cannot load without a connection shows a short offline notice with a link that tries the same page again.
How to use it
Nothing to switch on: it works in VEP added to your iPhone home screen and in the browser on phones and computers once you have opened VEP there.
