Improved

Turn on notifications for VEP on your iPhone home screen

For everyone who works with an AI employee

Part of Chat with your AI employees on your phone and tablet

VEP on your iPhone home screen now asks for notifications only when you choose to turn them on, shows whether they are on for this iPhone, and sends a test notification so you can see one arrive.

Why it matters

Notifications tell you about new messages and calls while VEP is closed. Your iPhone asks only once, so the question should come when you are ready for it, and you should always know where to switch notifications back on.

Before
VEP on your iPhone home screen asked for notifications on your first tap anywhere, and after a No it gave no hint where to allow them later.
Now
Notifications for VEP on your iPhone home screen turn on with one tap in settings, show whether they are on and come with a test you send to yourself.

What you get

  • Your choice: VEP on your iPhone home screen asks for notifications only after you tap to turn them on, never on a stray tap somewhere else.
  • Always a way back: when notifications are off for VEP, VEP shows exactly where to allow them in the settings of your iPhone.
  • A test you can see: send yourself a test notification, lock your phone, and it arrives about 10 seconds later.
  • Off for one phone: switching notifications off in VEP affects only that phone and only your account on it. Your other devices keep theirs.
  • Help in any browser: in a Safari tab, VEP shows the three steps that add it to your home screen, where notifications work. In another browser on your iPhone, the steps start in Safari.
  • Details for support: a new page lists the app version and the notification state of this phone, ready to copy and with no personal details.

How to use it

  1. Open VEP from your home screen

Notifications work in VEP on your home screen, on iOS 16.4 or later. In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, then open VEP from your home screen.

  2. Turn notifications on

Tap Settings, then Notifications, then Turn on, and choose Allow when your iPhone asks. The card at the top of your chats has the same Turn on button.

  3. Send a test

Tap Send a test notification and lock your phone. The test notification arrives in about 10 seconds, and when you come back VEP asks whether it arrived.

  4. If your iPhone does not ask

Open the Settings app of your iPhone, then Notifications, then VEP, and turn on Allow Notifications. Then come back to VEP: notifications turn on by themselves. If VEP still shows them off, close VEP and open it again.

Good to know

  • Turn off in VEP stops notifications on this iPhone only. Your other devices keep theirs.
  • VEP shows On only once this iPhone is ready to receive notifications. If turning them on does not work, check your connection and tap Turn on again.
  • About this app in Settings shows the version of VEP and the notification state of this phone. Tap Copy and paste it into a message to support.
