VEP on your iPhone home screen gets its own name, icon and colors

Adding VEP to your iPhone or iPad home screen now gives you an icon named VEP with the VEP picture, and VEP opens in its own dark colors, with no light page showing around it.
Why it matters
The icon on your home screen is how you open VEP every day. A clear name and the familiar picture make it easy to find, and a dark start matches the app you are about to use.
- Before
- Added from the sign-in page, VEP got an icon without the VEP picture, its name could be a long page title, and light page colors could show around its dark screens as it opened.
- Now
- VEP added to your home screen gets the name VEP and the VEP icon, and opens in its own dark colors.
What you get
- Named VEP: when you add VEP to your iPhone or iPad home screen, the name it suggests for the icon is simply VEP, not a long page title.
- The VEP icon from any of its pages: the icon shows the VEP picture whether you add it from your chats, the VEP home page, the sign-in page or a What's New page.
- A dark start: VEP's screens are dark from the moment they appear, with no light page showing around your chats while VEP loads.
- Readable on the way to sign in: the short message VEP shows while it takes you to the sign-in page is now easy to read.
How to use it
Open VEP in Safari
On your iPhone or iPad, open vep.live in Safari. While you are signed in, it opens your chats.
Add it to your home screen
Open Safari's Share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
Keep the name VEP
The name field already says VEP. Keep it, or type another name, and tap Add.
Open VEP from its icon
Tap the VEP icon on your home screen. VEP opens in its own dark colors; sign in if it asks the first time.
Good to know
- VEP already on your home screen keeps the name and icon it was added with. To get the new ones, remove it and add it again from Safari, then sign in and allow notifications again if VEP asks.
