Person chats open instantly from your phone, and every message you have seen stays readable without a connection.
Why it matters
Conversations with colleagues and customers are what you check most on the go. Opening one should not wait for the network, and a message you have already read should still be there in a lift, on a train or on a plane.
- Before
- Without a connection, a chat with a person showed only its latest messages: older ones you had read could not be loaded, and some topic tabs stayed empty.
- Now
- Person chats on your phone open at once with the messages you have seen, older ones and every topic tab included, and catch up by themselves once you are online.
What you get
- Open at once: a chat shows the messages kept on your phone the moment you open it, then adds anything new as soon as the connection answers, without showing a message twice.
- Scroll back without a connection: older messages you have seen load from your phone as you scroll up; where they end, the chat says so and loads the rest once you are online.
- Every topic tab: in a chat with topics, each tab you have opened shows its own messages without a connection, also when you open VEP without one, and General shows the messages that are in no topic.
- Waiting messages stay put: messages you wrote without a connection stay at the bottom of the chat, in the order you wrote them, when you open VEP again.
- Deleted stays deleted: a message you delete stays gone from your phone, and one the other person removes from the latest messages disappears from your phone as soon as the chat updates.
How to use it
Nothing to switch on: it works in chats with people in VEP on your iPhone or iPad home screen and in phone and tablet browsers.
