Open VEP from your iPhone or iPad home screen with no connection and your chat list and the messages you last read are there. A chat with nothing saved on your phone says so plainly.
Why it matters
Phones lose the connection in lifts, on trains and on planes. Looking back at what a colleague or your AI employee said, without waiting for the network, is what makes VEP on your phone feel like a real app.
- Before
- Without a connection, VEP on the home screen showed a loading line where your chats should be, and a reopened chat could show your own messages on the other side.
- Now
- VEP on your phone shows the chat list and the messages you last read when there is no connection, and says so when a chat has nothing saved yet.
What you get
- Your chat list at once: when you open VEP from your home screen, the chat list you saw last appears straight away, before the connection answers and also when there is no connection at all.
- The chat you had open: VEP reopens the chat you were reading with its latest messages, your own messages on your side and the other person's on theirs.
- Chats with topics: a chat with a colleague that uses topics shows the newest messages of the topic you had open, and waits quietly for the connection to come back.
- Says when nothing is saved: a chat with an AI employee or a group that has no messages on your phone yet tells you there is no connection, rather than looking empty.
- Back online by itself: when the connection returns, those chats load their newest messages without you opening them again.
How to use it
Nothing to switch on: it works in VEP on your iPhone or iPad home screen and in phone and tablet browsers, for chats you have opened on that device.
