Your phone now shows a call notification only for a real call. Message notifications go out marked urgent, and a notification that could not be delivered within a day is dropped rather than arriving late.
Why it matters
When your phone says a colleague is calling, someone really is. Message notifications are meant to reach you while the news is still fresh, not long after the conversation has moved on.

- Opening a chat with a colleague on a phone could send them a false call notification, while real calls sent none, and old notifications could arrive long after they were sent.

- Call notifications come only for real calls, message notifications go out as urgent, and notifications that could not be delivered in time are dropped.
What you get
- Only real calls: a notification that someone is calling you goes out only when they start an audio or video call with you.
- Opening a chat stays quiet: opening a chat with a colleague on your phone never makes their phone say that you are calling.
- Real calls reach you: when a colleague calls you, your phone gets a notification with their name that points you to the chat to call back. From a computer, a call goes through only while you are online in VEP.
- Shown right away: message notifications go out marked urgent, so your phone can show them right away rather than holding them back.
- Old ones are dropped: a message notification that cannot reach your phone within a day is dropped rather than arriving late. A call notification is dropped much sooner, so you are not told about a call long after it ended.

Nothing to switch on: it works wherever you allowed VEP notifications, for chats and calls with colleagues.
