Improved

Your AI employee searches Asana by person and period

For business owners and managers

Ask what someone was asked to do in Asana this year, and your AI employee searches the whole workspace by person and date, then reads the comments on each task.

Why it matters

Business owners and managers get a complete answer about who was asked to do what and when, across every task in the period, open or done, with the discussion behind each one.

Before
Your AI employee could list one person's tasks, up to 500 at a time, and could not search by who created a task or read a long comment thread.
Now
Your AI employee searches every task by person, period and words, reads each task's comments page by page, and finds colleagues by email or name.

What you get

  • By person: find the tasks someone created, was given, assigned or follows, alone or combined, for example everything you gave one colleague.
  • By period: limit the search to when tasks were created, changed or finished, or to a range of due dates, from a few days to a whole year.
  • Comment threads: your AI employee reads a task's comments in order, page by page, and can keep only one person's comments in a period.
  • The right person: your AI employee finds a colleague's Asana account by email or part of a name before it searches.
  • Long lists: a task list longer than 500 tasks continues on the next request, so nothing is cut off.

How to use it

  1. Connect Asana once

In the chat with your AI employee, send /connect asana and follow the steps it gives to create a personal access code under My apps in Asana.

  2. Ask about a person and a period

Name the person, the period and what you want back, such as a list with dates and the comments on each task.

    Example

List every Asana task I gave our designer this year, with the comments on each.

  3. Narrow it down

Ask for one project, only open tasks, tasks with certain words, or the comments of one task.

Good to know

  • Searching a whole workspace needs a paid Asana plan (Premium, Business or Enterprise). Without one, your AI employee says so and lists tasks by project or person instead.
  • Your AI employee reads Asana with the account connected for it and sees only what that account can see.
  • If many tasks were created in the same second, for example by an import, your AI employee tells you that some of them may be missing.
