Calls in VEP now come only from people you already work or talk with: colleagues in your company, members of your groups and people you wrote to. Someone you blocked cannot ring you.
Why it matters
A ringing phone should mean that someone you know needs you. Calls from strangers or from people you blocked are noise at best, so VEP now checks who may ring you before your screen lights up.
- Before
- A call could reach you from people outside your company and your chats, and blocking a person did not keep their calls away.
- Now
- Calls reach you only from colleagues, group members and people you wrote to, and blocking a person also blocks their calls.
What you get
- Colleagues and groups: people in your company and members of the groups you are in can call you, just as before.
- People you wrote to: someone you have sent a message to can call you, and you can always answer and hang up a call you received.
- Blocking covers calls: when you block a person, they cannot ring you and you cannot ring them, until one of you unblocks.
- A hang-up always arrives: if a call was already running when you blocked someone, ending it still works on both sides.
- Strangers stay silent: someone with no tie to you, even after sending you a message you never answered, cannot ring you or start a call with your device.
How to use it
Nothing to switch on: it applies to audio and video calls in VEP on every device, in the browser, the home screen app and the native app.
