The code that connects a new computer to VEP works for 10 minutes. If it runs out before you use it, one click on the computer's card gives you a fresh one.
Why it matters
Admins can connect a computer at their own pace. A code that runs out is replaced in one click, and an old code is clearly marked, so it is easy to tell which code still works.
- Before
- When the code ran out, the computer's card kept showing it and offered no way to get a new one, although the setup guide told you to click for one.
- Now
- One click on a waiting computer's card gives you a fresh code and the time it works until, and a code that ran out is marked as expired.
What you get
- A fresh code in one click: a computer that is still waiting to be connected offers a new code on its card and says until when it works.
- Expired codes are marked: a code that has run out is marked as expired, so you see at a glance that you need a new one.
- The guide matches the card: the setup guide names the same button on the waiting computer's card.
- Who sees it: the button shows for your company's admins, who connect your computers.
How to use it
Open your computers
Open Compute Resources. On a phone, you find it under Usage & Billing.
Get a new code
On the card of the computer that is waiting to be connected, click Generate New Code. VEP shows the new code and the time it works until, and the card shows it too.
Connect the computer
Copy the command from the card and run it on your computer before the code runs out.
