A reminder you ask for once now comes once
For everyone who works with an AI employee
Part of One-time reminders and an alert when a reply arrives
A reminder you ask for once, on a date, on a weekday, today, tomorrow or in two hours, runs at that moment and then ends. Its confirmation says once and when, and a task you ask to repeat still says every.
Why it matters
A one-time follow-up, such as checking that lent equipment came back, should never return a year later or every day as if it were new. What you set once happens once, and what you set to repeat keeps repeating.
- Before
- A one-time request could be kept as a scheduled task that repeats, so a reminder for 1 October would have come back the next October.
- Now
- A one-time reminder runs once at the moment you named and is then marked finished, while a request to repeat stays a repeating scheduled task.
What you get
- Moments in your words: on 1 December at 10:00, on Friday at 17:00, today at 15:00, tomorrow at 9, next Monday or in two hours each become one run in your time zone.
- Then it ends: after its one run the reminder shows as finished in your list and does not come back the next day or the next year.
- A clear confirmation: the reply says once with the date and time, or every with the schedule, such as every day in December at 09:00, for a task that repeats.
- Repeating stays repeating: a task you ask for every evening still repeats when it is about tomorrow's agenda, and it keeps your own words.
- Honest about limits: a one-time reminder can be up to 90 days ahead. For a later date you are told until when it is possible, when to ask again, or to ask for it every year.
- Edits and pauses: moving a reminder to a new moment keeps it one-time, and a reminder whose time passed while it was off is not switched back on.

Good to know
- You can also ask your AI employee in your own words without the command; a one-time reminder it sets runs once too.
- A one-time reminder can be from five minutes to 90 days ahead. For a date every year, say every year.
