VEP on your phone now updates itself: when a new version is out, it switches to it as you come back to VEP or leave it, and reopens the chat you had open with the text you had started.
Why it matters
New features and improvements reach your phone without any effort from you: you do not need to close VEP or look for a button, and a message you are writing or sending, a voice message or a call is never cut off.
- Before
- VEP added to your home screen kept the version it had opened with until you accepted the update notice or closed VEP completely and opened it again.
- Now
- VEP on your phone moves to its newest version by itself when you come back to it or leave it, and reopens the chat you had open.
What you get
- Updates as you come back: in the first seconds after you return, before you touch anything, VEP switches to the new version behind a short dark screen, then reopens your chat with the text you had started.
- Or as you leave: when VEP already knows about a new version, it switches as you leave it, so it is current the next time you look. Taking a photo or choosing a file from VEP does not count as leaving.
- Never in the middle of something: VEP waits while you type, edit or reply to a message, a photo or file waits to be sent, you record a voice message, talk in a call, read further up in a chat or have another page open.
- Nothing you send gets lost: VEP also waits while a message is still on its way, one written without signal included, while an answer from an AI employee arrives and while you are offline.
- On a weak signal: if the new version cannot load, VEP opens as it was, offers the update in a notice and tries again the next time you come back to VEP or leave it, at least 10 minutes later.
- What updates by itself: features and improvements. If VEP is open right now, accept the update notice once or reopen VEP. The home screen icon, name and launch screen stay until you delete the icon and add VEP again.
How to use it
Nothing to switch on: it works in VEP on your iPhone or iPad home screen and in phone and tablet browsers. On a computer VEP still shows the notice.
