Open VEP from your iPhone or iPad home screen and it starts on a dark screen with the VEP logo in the middle, in the same colors as the chats that appear right after it.
Why it matters
You open VEP from its icon many times a day. A start screen in the colors of your chats, with the VEP logo in the middle, makes VEP feel like one app from the first moment you tap it.

- Opening VEP from your home screen showed a plain screen without the VEP logo for a moment, before your chats appeared.
- Now
- VEP opened from your iPhone or iPad home screen starts on a dark screen with the VEP logo, then shows your chats.
What you get
- A dark start: the moment you tap the VEP icon, a dark screen with the VEP logo in the middle appears, in the same color as your chats.
- Made for your screen: the start screen is sized for current iPhones, from iPhone SE to iPhone 17 Pro Max, and for current iPads, held upright or sideways.
- Add VEP again to get it: your iPhone keeps the start screen it was given when you added VEP. If VEP was on your home screen before this update, delete the icon and add VEP again.
- Guides link to your chats: in a browser on a phone or a computer, the setup guides you open from VEP, such as running an AI employee on your own hardware, now have a link at the top to your chats.
How to use it
Remove the old icon
If VEP is already on your home screen, press and hold its icon and remove it from your home screen. Your chats stay in VEP.
Open VEP in Safari
On your iPhone or iPad, open vep.live in Safari and sign in. While you are signed in, it opens your chats.
Add it to your home screen
With your chats on the screen, open Safari's Share menu, tap Add to Home Screen, keep the name VEP and tap Add.
Open VEP from its icon
Tap the new VEP icon. A dark screen with the VEP logo shows while VEP starts, then your chats appear. Sign in if VEP asks the first time.
Good to know
- Your iPhone keeps the start screen it got when you added VEP. An icon added before this update keeps the old start screen until you delete it and add VEP again.
- After you add VEP again, sign in once and allow notifications again if VEP asks.
- In VEP on your home screen, setup guides open over VEP, like other web pages. Tap Done to come back to your chats.
