Group chat notifications now show the group name and who wrote. While a chat is open on your screen, its new messages simply appear in it, and when you come back to VEP the open chat shows what arrived meanwhile.
Why it matters
You can tell at a glance which group a message belongs to, your phone does not buzz for a conversation you are already reading, and after your phone slept you see the newest messages right away, without leaving and reopening the chat.
- Before
- A group notification named only who wrote, a chat you were reading still sent notifications, and a person chat left open could show old messages until you reopened it.
- Now
- Group notifications name the group and the sender, the chat you are reading stays silent, and an open chat catches up as soon as VEP comes back.
What you get
- The group in every group notification: a group message is titled with the group name and the person who wrote it, so a lock screen full of notifications still tells you where each one came from. Long names are shortened to fit.
- No notification for the chat you are reading: while a person or group chat is open and visible in VEP on your phone or tablet, its new messages appear in the chat without a notification on any of your devices.
- Every other chat still notifies you: messages in other chats arrive as before, and so do calls, even from the person whose chat you have open.
- Back to normal when you leave: notifications for that chat return as soon as you close it, switch to another app, lock your phone or a call screen covers it. Without a connection at that moment, they return within a minute.
- One notification per call: a call that rings while VEP is open in the background shows a single notification for that call and sounds once, on your computer and on your phone.
- Up to date when you come back: the person chat you had open adds what arrived meanwhile below the lines you were reading, keeps your place and a message that is still sending, and on your phone the chat fits the screen again at once.

Group names reach every device with VEP notifications. A chat you read in VEP on a phone or tablet stays silent, and open chats catch up in any browser.
